Five division women's boxing champion Amanda 'The Real Deal' Serrano of Carolina, Puerto Rico will be making her long-awaited debut in mixed martial arts in the month of March in the United States. "It's final and firm, I will be debuting in March. The plan was to debut [in MMA] in February, but I was offered a boxing match for the WBO world title on January 20 in Brooklyn, but unfortunately no opponents showed up," Serrano said.

They have a bit more talent in mma after big stars like Rousey holm and cyborg bursted on the scene. Women's boxing is due to have an explosion tho because the amateur system adding elite level tournaments has made women's boxing 1000x better just look at the current crop of prospects

The only difference I see is the fans. They turn their women into superstars while in boxing the fans constantly put down the female fans fighters.

Pays better.

They get promoted.

They have a actual fanbase to sell to.

And they still have the creepy dude fanbase to hit up who are 60%-75% of the dudes who like female boxing probably.

And there is the new female MMA creep fanbase who like to see camel toes, crotch shots & the like.


The reality is few really like female boxing. Women don't really watch in mass. Males don't really watch unless there is a match thrown onto a card you're watching anyway.

The bouts usually look competitive cuz the girls can't stop each other (female MMA fighters don't KO each other very often either, but submissions happen all the time), but its the B league or maybe C league at the end of the day & few people enjoy watching lesser levels of a sport, unless a family member or friend is involved, when they could be watching elite athletes compete.

I actually believe this is why boxing had a good 2017, but its popularity had been waning up til last year. If you got all these tip top elite guys but they never fight less people are going to care.

There are virtually no female boxers fans care about & its rare to even find them in the same division when they do find them.

I mean just look at the two sports. People actually got excited for Cyborg vs Holm & for Rousey's reign. And Thug Rose KOing Joanna Champion was the feel good moment of this year for some cats. And there are cats thirsty for Cyborg vs Nunes now. Show me those types of fans for female boxing? I don't see them & can't recall when I really did even when Laila Ali was a thing or Christy Martin. Reality is reality.
