  • Comments Thread For: Joshua: Fury Fight is More of a Fantasy Right Now, He's Not Fit

In the last few days, former unified champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) has been verbally assaulting IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) in interviews and on social media. Fury, inactive since November 2015 when he shocked Wladimir Klitschko for the heavyweight crown, wants to face Joshua in his first fight back.

even IF he becomes fit..joshua won't be looking to dance with him for 12 rounds like klitschko did..with the momentum joshua has...a joshua stoppage is the most likely scenario if they do fight..joshua punches way harder than Steve Cunningham

The Fury that fought Steve isn’t the same one that fought Wlad, we still don’t know which Fury turns up after this two years break, he is still very young, so that break might be good for his body. But Fury has done his graft and graft before he went up there with Wlad.

I'm not talking about fury's performance against Cunningham..I'm talking about the punch power..unless a chin can be improved..he went down against the light hitting cunningham compared to joshua.. he'll most likely go down or get wobbled if/when joshua connects

The amount of abuse Tyson has put his body through in the last two years is scary both mentally and physically .It's not like he was taking time out and just ticking over.He said he has been drinking and eating his way through Britain and sniffing ******* is the polar opposite to how a boxer trains.

Tyson needs to get his mind and body right and how the end result is will only be determined when we see him back in the ring against fit good fighters.

It will be tricky to match the unknown but a fight against the supremely fit and capable Joshua is just a smash and grab and should never be talked about at this stage. As Joshua says it is just a fantasy fight and it's down to Tyson to show it's worth the mega money he's expecting.

This isn't really news; Joshua has stated several times already that Fury needs to get fit, irrelevant of the crap that Fury spouts.

Do find the little snippet about co-promoting Okolie v Chamberlain interesting though as it did seem a bit early for that kind of thing but from the sounds of it he is equally aware of that and won't allow it to get in the way of actual boxing.

Stating the obvious. I have doubts he even comes back to fight Briggs in April as has been rumoured let alone coming back to face someone like Joshua.

I hope he does but if he's 80% of the fighter he once was I'l be surprised. Over 2 years of inactivity where he hasn't trained consistently, the 130lbs he gained in weight will have left it's mark in someway along with all the drink and drugs.

I remember when Buster Douglas made his comeback after he ballooned to 400lbs and he was never the same. You can't keep abusing your body and expect it to snap back to where it was before, each time you do it, you lose something.

I think Fury might be a bit elusive for the first couple of rounds, but AJ will end up walking him down because he won't respect Fury's power and making it a scrappy inside fight.

On another note did anyone see the video posted yesterday of Fury, BJS and Hughie training on the bag together? - BJS looked to be the most powerful out of them all... Even Fury fans were commenting on it saying that he looks a shell of his former self.

If fury can beat josh, it must show that Fury must be quite gifted. I dont think anyone or many could do what Tyson has done to himself and still perform and beat talented individuals like Josh.
