It wasn't a classic but, as is often the case, unification brought out some of the best of both men involved. In the end, Japan's Ryochi Taguchi made his seventh WBA title defense, and added the IBF title at 108 lbs. in the biggest win of his career to date. He's the first unified titlist at Jr. flyweight since Giovani Segura defeated Ivan Calderon in the 2010 fight of the year.

Kosei Tanaka moved up to flyweight and vacated his WBO belt. Angel Acosta (a former Tanaka opponent) holds that belt now. Provided Taguchi gets past Budler and his WBA mandatory, and Shiro gets past Lopez a second time, we may see Taguchi vs Ken Shiro by the end of 2018. It's a shame Kosei Tanaka isn't in the division anymore, and I doubt Angel Acosta is gonna be put in with the bigger dogs any time soon.
