Comments Thread For: David Haye Admits: 2018 Could Potentially Be My Last Year

Former two division world champion David Haye (28-3, 26 KOs), 37 years old, admits that his career could come to a close by the end of the year. Haye has been out of the ring since last March, when he suffered a shocking TKO defeat at the hands of Tony Bellew at the O2 Arena in London. He is currently training for their scheduled rematch, set to take place on May 5th at the same venue.

Haye is done and has been for years.

His body has been ready to stop for years and now his mind seemingly is.

If Bellew beats him he’ll retire I’d bet. If he beats Bellew he’ll have one last push/chance at getting a big fight, but all the big names worth trying to snap up are tied up with each other really.

AJ-Parker, Wilder-Ortiz all potentially rounding off the division wth each other (winners facing winners etc) by a year from now.

His only chance at “fireworks” would probably be fighting Fury...and we know the story there...

He went from Miami to Jamaica just before the New Year - FIRST CLASS. Haye LOVES that money but doesn't want to work hard for it.

What do you mean potentially David? Just sh^t or get off the pot, your as annoying as Tyson Fury or Beyonce Whiner with your cheap headline grabbing tactics. Add Jeff Horn to that list.

The question is whether Haye will make it to the fight, or pull out of a fight for the umpteenth time. When your body can't train the way it used to, you're done. Unless you can box and survive as long as a Bernard Hopkins.
