On September 3rd in Kyoto, Japan, Danny Roman dominated Shun Kubo in nine rounds to capture the WBA super bantamweight title. Now he will return to Japan to face Ryo Matsumoto (21-1, 19 KOs) at Korakuen Hall on February 28th in what will be his first title defense.

Im done placing blame on these shameless japanese fighters and their teams.

These guys are too ****** to recognize they are being setup to fail in a rigged minefield over there. They can only pay with money since talent is lacking otherwise Kubo would have defended this title instead of getting walked over like the can that he is.

How many japanese fighters in japan will it take? Who knows, they will probably keep throwing them at him until they succeed.

If the fight is anywhere near even close, he will lose. Shame hes throwing his belt away like that.

Danny the ' Baby Faced Assassin ' should dispose of Ryo Matsumoto before the final round. Ryo for some reason is ranked top ten by the WBC, WBA, WBO : despite having a padded record ; Matsumotos avenging his only loss to Uriel Lopez by KO was nice but how does that rank you over Yasutaka Ishimoto? his last win was better than Matsumoto last three opponents combined!

Anyways Roman needs to understand hes new to the scene and is a minor titlist, in a red-hot division with : Guillermo Rigondeaux ( WBA Super-Champion and lineal ) WBC Rey Vargas, IBF Ryosuke Iwasa, WBO Jessie Magdaleno, and the rest of solid proven contenders ; former WBO 118 pound champion Marlon Tapales, Nonito Donaire, Cesar Juarez, Tomoki Kameda, Diego De la Hoya, Evgeny Gradovich,Gamal Yafai, Isaac Dogboe, its easy to get lost in the crowd.

The good news is that with all these names floating about he should be able to get a name in there with him, the problem is as Alex Camponovo stated, whos going to pay for it? maybe pressing the WBA for Rigo will get Danny back on U.S television but its a big risk -- a loss to Rigo would not be that bad, Danny would most likely get a good ranking a be able to mix it up in a eliminator or even better challenge one of the other champions.
