Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Wants Saunders for April Return at Barclays Center

Daniel Jacobs hopes Billy Joe Saunders will return to North America for his next fight, this time to New York to face him. Jacobs is likely to fight again April 28 at Barclays Center in his native Brooklyn and wants a shot at the British southpaw's WBO middleweight title. Saunders' willingness to travel to Quebec to defend his title against Montreal's David Lemieux gives Jacobs and his handlers some confidence he'll seriously consider defending his championship against Jacobs in Brooklyn.

If Hearn could deliver this fight for Jacobs then people in America would really need to take notice. As good as Saunders is I can’t see him taking this fight.

Saunders will not take that fight. He would lose and there goes any shot he has for bigger money losing against Canelo or GGG.

I don't think Saunders will fight Danny in America or UK. But if he did I'll give him props. He definitely proved he could box against Lemieux bjs did better than I thought. Saunders is a good fighter I do think he could possibly give Jacobs fits. Only bad thing I can say about Saunders win is that Lemieux looked out of shape and sluggish. That's not Saunders fault though he beat the man in his back yard.

There’s not a lot of reasons for Saunders to take the fight as much as I would love to see it. I think Jacobs wins but it won’t be as easy as I first thought

Billy Joe Saunders came to North America to wake up a lot of boneheads. He will now return to the UK and fight on his terms. Danny Jacobs can do what Billy Joe just did and cross the Atlantic for a big fight. Eddie Hearn and his fighters are always there trying to piggyback off others' success. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if Billy Joe is happy to travel again for this fight.

what does Jacobs bring to the table - has no belts, no crowds, no money and has been beaten already

Danny won't be getting that fight. BJS will probably take a mandatory then just wait for winner of Canelo-GGG.
