  • Comments Thread For: Saunders: When I Beat Lemieux, Would Love to Fight Canelo Next

If Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin can't come to an agreement for a rematch proposed for May 5, Billy Joe Saunders "would love" to face Alvarez after he defeats David Lemieux on Saturday night. The unbeaten Saunders has traveled to Lemieux's native Quebec to defend his WBO middleweight title at Place Bell in Laval, near Montreal. The supremely confident southpaw is sure beating the hard-hitting Lemieux will put him in perfect position to become Plan B for Alvarez if Golovkin negotiations don't lead to finalizing a deal for what would be boxing's biggest fight of 2018.

    Night, Night Saunders

Wow!! Saunders hasn't even taken a shot from Lemeiux and he's already showing signs of brain damage.

He's a fool to underestimate Lemieux. He will leave on a stretcher...just like Stevens.

Conflicted about this. I want lemieux to win but I feel like canelo is going for lemieux and I feel like lemieux istoo limited for canelo. I can't see canelo taking that rematch with ggg and the plan is for that wbo belt no matter who.

BJ's canelo is a better match up on paper but I sure dislike that guy.

Id like to see Lemule launch BJS head into the upper deck but I think Lemule gets tuned up, somewhere in the neighborhood of 116-112.

lemieux will quit on his stool between the 7th & 8th rd's when he gass'es out because he can't deal with BJS slickness

Pretty sure that's what Golden Boy and Frank Warren want to happen. Golovkin-Jacobs rematch next.
