Comments Thread For: Jessie Vargas: In a Rematch Sadam Ali Gets Knocked Out Sooner!

On Saturday night Sadam Ali (26-1) shocked the boxing world when he defeated Miguel Cotto (41-6) in the final fight of the former four-division champion's certain Hall of Fame career. Ali was a heavy underdog in the fight and really picked up momentum in the second half of the fight to secure the victory. With the win he captured the WBO 154 pound title.

I like Vargas but I bet he is kicking himself in the butt now that he didnt take that Cotto fight. Right now Ali has no financial reason to fight Vargas. Ali can make some decent money against Khan or Brook before its time to decide whether to vacate or not.

Too bad we probably won't see that rematch. Not that the 1st was anything special...but Oscar isn't doing business with haymon.

I think Vargas is going to be Al's new Robert Guerrero and get fed to Thurman Spence Porter & Danny

That's what it seems like. Vargas is still really good. He a B Class fighter. Doesnt do anything great but does everything very solid. He better than a gatekeeper. He's the guy to test if your a special and elite A class fighter.

Vargas is a lot better than he is given credit for.
