Comments Thread For: Sadam Ali Wasn't Sure He'd Get Decision Before Scores Were Read

NEW YORK Sadam Ali admitted before facing Miguel Cotto that he was worried he wouldn't win a decision against the popular Puerto Rican legend at Madison Square Garden, even if he had earned it. That tension intensified for Ali as he waited for ring announcer Michael Buffer to announce the scores following their 12-round, 154-pound title fight Saturday night. As Buffer read the scores, it was obvious by the look on Ali's face that he wasn't certain he would be declared the winner of a fight in which he performed much better than the lopsided odds suggested he would.

To be honest me too, I know it was Cotto’s last fight so was expecting the cooking to be in works, so kudos to them for getting it right.

He didn't seem ecstatic when they said "and New..."

I mean he just beat Cotto... maybe he felt sorry for Cotto''s in game injury?

He shouldve taken notes from Charlo beating Heilland, acting all smug like "it aint no thang but a chicken wang!"

Both men displayed heart, soul and class and the judges got the verdict right. A triumphant night for the sport.

Every once in a blue moon boxing judges get it right!!

They get as much credit from me as Ali did in the fight.
Glad to see the young man fulfill his dream.

Now he should be trying to cash in before he meets one of the titans in the division. This division is just not his natural weight!!

A fight between him and Khan or Brooks will generate some interest and money.

I don't blame him! Who could? He was supposed to be a lay up for the exiting hero. And he won but it isn't like he shut Cotto out. We've all seen worse robberies.

Very Good fight, Ali didn't seem like an heavy hitter he may need to closely choose he's next opponents from here on. Did anybody notice how flamming Cottos son was? My God no wonder why Cotto wears all that pink! :0

I think he was just utterly shocked the judges got it right given the circumstances of last nights event.

Judges got it right because Golden Boy was not involved with the judges influence this time.
Cotto is on his way out and Golden Boy now has Ali under contract for his next couple of fights.
So I figured Ali would get the decision.
                    Cong**** to him tho.
