  • Comments Thread For: Joshua vs. Wilder - No Reason Why it Can't Happen, Says Hearn

Matchroom Boxing chairman Barry Hearn remains hopeful that an Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder heavyweight unification clash will happen in 2018. At the moment, Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs), who holds the WBA, IBF, IBO world titles, is close to a deal to fight WBO champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) on a date in March or April.

if Wilder's so sure as he says..he'll take the justifiable 35/40% providing all he's bringing is a belt..then the rematch he'll call the shots..but he just wants his payday..kinda like Charles martin..all talk and unrealistic demands..he ain't sure of himself..if he is sign for 40%..win and turn the table around and demand the same or equal in the rematch..except he knows and a lot of boxing experts knows..he's more likely to get knocked the fück out!

If Parker gets 35% no reason why Wilder shouldn't get 45%

That will make the fight happen eventually. 55-45.

Wilder will be in a even weaker position. Not a draw and 3 belts to 1.

It will be 4 if Parkers team also comes down to reality with demands and signs to fight .

Joshua will hold all the belts for years to come except for the WBC, wilder isn't wild enough to dare face him.

He would take 40%. 35%? We're not so sure.

providing all he's bringing is a belt..
Doesn't just bring a belt. Brings the most important belt. Also brings the US market. Not to mention he knows how to talk up a fight. Wilder & Parker can do a two fight deal, one in the UK and one in the US, and both make a ton of money. But there's no doubt AJ will get the lion's share.

then the rematch he'll call the shots..
Doubtful. It's likely to be a two fight deal from the get go.

but he just wants his payday..kinda like Charles martin..
Very different situation. Martin was simply selling his belt. Wilder has the best chance of anyone in the world of beating AJ, even if Wilder ultimately comes up short.

all talk and unrealistic demands..he ain't sure of himself..if he is sign for 40%..
50/50 is an unrealistic demand, but it's a negotiation. Even Parker demanded 50/50 initially and Wilder has way more leverage than Parker. Wilder would sign at 40%, but there is a dance that must take place first.

win and turn the table around and demand the same or equal in the rematch..
That's not how this business works. AJ will surely have a rematch clause. Terms for the second bout will be negotiated in advance.

[QUOTE]except he knows and a lot of boxing experts knows..he's more likely to get knocked the fück out!

He's also the fighter most likely to knock AJ out. May the best man win.

                  Much bigger draw than Parker.

Whatever Parker gets, Wilder will get more.

Why do you waste people's time with such nonsense? Wilder wants the fight to be NEXT. If it was up to Wilder, they'd be fighting ASAP. You don't know Wilder at all if you think he's afraid of anybody. Win or lose, he's desperate to face AJ.
