Because Rigo isn't bringing in big $$$. If he wins he might become a bigger draw let him keep the title, if he loses he won't so strip him.

Rigo should be targeting 126 after Loma beats him anyways.
Nothing else to do at 122. He should have moved up much sooner.
I don't want to hear about him being too small. He is small but not as small as some like to think. People actually said he could make 112 and 115. If that is so, then why didn't he ever compete in those weight classes?
He is basically the same height as Gamboa.
He could easily be fighting at 126. It's not like current Featherweights are giants.
LSC is tall but doesn't re-hydrate a whole lot. Frampton and Russell are short. Mares is the same height as Rigo.Comment

Trying to downplay how small Rigo is won't help Loma. Everyone will see the size difference in the ring win or lose, then make up their mind if it was a deciding factor.Rigo should be targeting 126 after Loma beats him anyways.

Loma weighs in WELL above 135 so why does he stay at 130???Rigo should be targeting 126 after Loma beats him anyways.

Lomachenko is not a big guy. Will he be bigger than Rigo? Sure, but people are making it out like Loma is going to look gigantic compared to Rigo. I shouldn't be surprised. There are still people that think Donaire was 140+ when he fought Rigo. Even though Donaire was the fighter that moved up a few weight divisions in the years prior to the Rigo fight and Donaire has never been over 133 or 134 on fight night (even against Walters).
People think that Loma is going to look like Crawford did against Gamboa.
I've seen Gamboa and Rigo side by side and they are basically the same height. There is even video out there of the two standing side by side. You can barely notice the height difference. Gamboa is just more bulked up because he moved up in weight since he was an amateur (went from 112 to 125 as an amateur then turned pro at 126), while Rigo is lean. Rigo has been fighting at 119 since he was at least 17.
This doesn't mean much since everybody grows differently, but Loma was at 112 when he was 18.
Gamboa was not smaller than Sosa. Gamboa was actually slightly taller, but they both looked about same size on fight night. Gamboa was even able to out-wrestle, for lack of a better word, him during the fight.
Lomachenko, Gamboa, and Sosa are all basically the same weight and height. If there is a difference it isn't by much.
The most Lomachenko has been on fight night is 139 and that was for the Sosa fight. It just shows that he has been putting on some mass since he moved up to 130. Gamboa has actually been above 140 on fight night before, which is not a smart thing for him to do.
Throwing insults just shows how childish you are. Can't even have an argument without calling people names.Comment

Nobody is saying Loma is not bigger than Rigo, but some of you people are acting like Loma is going to look like Crawford did against Gamboa.
We will see how big they are when they are close together.
I've been following Rigo for years. He was fighting at 119 since early 1998. He was 17 (he has a late birthday).
He is not this small man that could make 112 and 115 like some want to claim. If he could, then why didn't he fight in those weight classes when he was younger?
There was even video of when he competed at the 2001 World Championships and the commentators claimed that Rigo told them that he was struggling to make 119, even back then.Comment
