Comments Thread For: Trainer: Gamboa is Not Finished, That Was Just The Starting Point

This past Saturday night at the Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York City, former world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa secured a ten round majority decision over the always dangerous Jason Sosa. It was the first bout for Gamboa (28-2, 17 KOs) since his TKO defeat at the hands of Robinson Castillanos earlier this year. Gamboa accepted this fight on three week's notice after Castellanos withdrew with injury.

I hope he does well but everything I'm seeing tells me this will end poorly...

If that was the beginning, I don't wanna see the end. Please spare us that.

If he wants to continue fighting than so be it. He probably can't do anything else.

I just hope he gets some good paydays.

He was always fundamentally flawed but nobody was able to figure him out for the time being and he was able to get away with his mistakes through his natural athleticsm. But he has been figured out and everybody who faces him attacks with confidence.

Gamboa is treading on thin ice.

Machado takes him out after being outboxed for 5 or 6 rounds!

                    Loma obliterates him

Tank folds him like lawn chairs

Berchelt confidently takes the fight to him and grinds him down

                    Farmer schools him

Salido at this point gives him a beating

Gamboa is screwed, if only he had a real trainer and good decision making skills in the beginning!
