Comments Thread For: Rey Vargas, Nacho Beristain Likely To Part Ways After Next Bout

According to Hall of Fame trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain, it is very likely that December 2 will be the last time that he works the corner of undefeated Rey Vargas, who is the super bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Council. Next Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Vargas will make the second defense of his title against Colombian Oscar Negrete.

Who else is Nacho working with? Does he have any other world champions at the moment?

Nacho was always hyping Vargas which is understandable since he is the trainer but I never believed it. Vargas is ordinary.. his size stands out for the division he is fighting in but that is where it ends. He doesnt have enough potential for Nacho to commit full time.

He has a bunch of up and coming fighters, including several female fighters. All of them in Mexico and it appears he's training Chavez Jr. for his next fight too.

He’s got nice reflexes, but he can’t punch that well

I think your totally wrong on this. I think Vargas is the real deal.
He's got height, reach, decent speed and footwork, and very intelligent.
It's gonna be hard for any fighter in his current weight class to beat him.

Vargas is ordinary ay? Well, then tell your boy Chocolatito to move up and show us how ordinary he is... you're still mad that Chocolatito got knocked off...

Vargas just made Rigo jump divisions to avoid him...and Jessie Magdaleno is ducking him too so watch your fking mouth...

Nachos spread very thin among the lot of Mexican Fighters getting his 10% ...but Rey still has a good corner that brought him the distance he came 7/8 bouts before Nacho even moved in?
