A few months ago, WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders threw a surprise challenge in the direction of Bolton star Amir Khan. It was a strange challenge because Khan has been inactive since May of 2016, when he was knocked out cold by Canelo Alvarez, then the WBC middleweight champion, in six rounds.
