  • Comments Thread For: Bellew Could Have Interim Fight Depending on Haye's Rehab Time

The week started off with a black eye, as David Haye postponed his rematch with Tony Bellew after tearing his biceps during training. The injury-prone heavyweight, 37, has withdrawn from the match-up scheduled for December 17 at London's O2 Arena but is not considering retirement and hopes to instead fight his rival on March 24 or May 5.

Waiting around for Haye is a great way to waste your time and earning power in a short career. Take a fight.

Fight Whyte, thats a good low risk fight for Bellew

Haye doesn’t just pull out once. Skip him

Forget Haye. Worst mistake would be to wait for him.

Stay busy and fight to end the year and again in early 2018.

Then maybe by June, Haye might sign to fight him again but even then he could pull out and piss off everyone. "Pull out" is his middle name these days.

I can't see him looking at Whyte or someone like that. I think Haye is his money fight before he calls it a day.
So i'd imagine he will wait on Haye (a risky game), and maybe take a real low key HW fight to tick over in the mean time.

Bellew is looking for one more payday before he retires. He'll wait on the biggest payday out there with Haye.
