With the current Cotto Threads It has ignited my interest on the infamous 9th round of the Cotto vs Margarito II: After dominating Margarito for at least 8 rounds, suddenly the replica of the 9th round of the first fight suddenly appeared in their rematch when Cotto began to show signs of breaking down under Margarito's pressure, with the doctor stopping the fight putting the last 3 rounds of their rematch to the enigma of history.

If the circumstances were different and the doctor allowed Margarito to fight on would he have TKO Miguel Cotto?

Short answer is no. Cotto did a great job boxing, but Margarito was catching up.

I don't think three rounds was enough for him to make a comeback, but he would have hurt Cotto in those late rounds.

Let's be honest, Cotto got an indirect assist from Pac. Cotto more than likely would have won anyways, but Margarito's bad eye saved Cotto from taking some punishment at the end of the fight.

Mate, If you don’t think he was cheating in that fight I’ve lost all hope for you. Like, come on. He went from knocking out people and hurting them with every punch to literally running away from Mosley and not even being able to hurt journeymen like Roberto Garcia (who?). Really? Do you really think it was just Handwraps and not that Garcia was at light middleweight that had never been stopped before? And mosley was a stylistic match up, Margo being a 1 dimensional pressure fighter, Mosley would have a field day with his right hand.

so he had loaded gloves when he fought williams and cotto and others? how long did he have loaded gloves for? and no commision or opposing corner ever stopped him? thats pretty hard to believe. you dont think his decline in power coincided with his decline as a fighter, suffering a brutal ko loss, suffering a brutal eye injury, as well as moving up in weight to fight bigger men?
