  • Comments Thread For: Parker's Promoter Details Status of Making Joshua Deal, Wilder Too

Britain's Anthony Joshua and New Zealander Joseph Parker are keen to fight each other in a heavyweight title clash early next year but the finances have to be right for both boxers, Parker's promoter said on Wednesday. Joshua holds the IBF, WBA and IBO heavyweight titles, while Parker holds the WBO crown. American Deontay Wilder holds the WBC title.

funny how Parker's team is trying to sell the belt to the highest bidder..makes business sense..he's young and can come back again given that he loses..while making a lot of money for a unification fight..smart team!

Wow Wilder's team made Parker an offer!

Absolute scenes. Didn't think there was anyone at home there.

Even so they will obviously wait for AJ regardless.

surprised to hear that wilder's handlers actually made an offer rather than shout on social media, parker and his team are pretty much auctioning the belt hes got enough time to return again

In reality Joseph Parker is little more than a tune-up for either Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.

This will go down as another wilder 'win'

Wilder sent Parker a offer but he ducked to fight Joshua

Jeez, apparently trying to get the best deal for their fighter and the most money now equates to "trying to sell the belt to the highest bidder".

"They have put a figure on the table. It wasn't enough," Higgins said. "If they put the right amount of money on the table we will go to America to fight Wilder."

Thats funny how team Parker is using Deontay as leverage but insulting at the same time.

I wonder what the right amount of money is. I'm assuming it's at minimum $5 million.

Exactly. Also out of that statement I took from it that Team Wilder didn't send him a low ball offer either he said "it wasn't enough" which means if we're going to lose this belt it's going to cost you guys a little more money to take this belt lol Joseph is actually in a good spot. He's considered the lesser of the three belt holders and he's low risk HIGH REWARD for both Wilder and AJ which means he has good leverage for a B Side fighter. It sucks but I can't blame him for trying to get that money lol
