Comments Thread For: Froch: Wilder a Bigger Puncher Than Joshua, Does A lot of Wrong

Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch views WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) as the most dangerous one-punch fighter in the sport. But, he also feels Wilder makes a lot of mistakes that will place him in danger when he comes up against the right fighter. Should Wilder win his mandatory rematch on Saturday night with Bermane Stiverne at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Froch would like to see him fight IBO, WBA, IBF heavyweight king Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs).

clear in the szpilka fight where he lost his balance on multiple occasions.. but that right hand is the equalizer to whatever skill you possess..almost like walking on a old wooden bridge.. it can crack at anytime..but you can carefully navigate through.. easier said than done

So far in his career Wilder has fought guys where he can get away with making mistakes and taking a few clean shots each round before finally landing his right hand after 8-9 rounds

Well when he comes out from the corner with his ****e defence and takes a straight right hand from joshua on the chin in the first round ****'s gonna go south for him real quick when he realizes this guy hits a whole lot harder than Gerald Washington.

Wilder hit dehydrated Stiverne with great shots for 12 rounds and couldn't get him out of there, so what is Froch's point? In this steroid era I don't think there is such thing as a one punch knockout artist at the world level anymore. At the truly world class, elite level, everyone is on steroids, and they seem to make steroids for the chin now too, and everyone can take a bunch of shots. Who is the last world class fighter to be knocked out besides Amir Khan, and Manny Pacquiao walking into the perfect shot, and Chocolatito fighting way above his weight class? It just doesn't happen anymore. These fighters are too valuable to their promoters for them to get knocked out, so "they" or "someone" gives them the chin PEDs to make sure it doesn't happen.

It's ruining boxing, but it preserves money making assets within the sport for their promoters, even if they don't realize it's making the sport itself generate less and less money over the long term (PPV mega events aside and inflation aside).

                Good point from Carl Froch

Is the rare instances that I agree with Carl Froch. Excellent Carl Froch analysis. He cover all the bases here.

for one..i think he makes more fundamental mistakes than joshua..I've never seen joshua just lunge with reckless abandone without hurting the opponent..or leave his chin up in the air, swing wildly..he's a pie for a counter puncher.. joshua ain't perfect but I got joshua by k.o after a few cagey rounds..he'll get countered.. it's mentally ingrained for him to lunge in..and Joshua will be ready for that..but this is heavyweight boxing..all it takes is one shot..which is one of many reasons why it has to be made!
