  • Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce To Return on Haye vs. Bellew 2 Undercard

Joe Joyce has confirmed his ring return. The Olympic silver medallist made a successful start to his career without the vest and headguard last month, stopping former British heavyweight title challenger Ian Lewison inside eight rounds. And Joyce, whose debut at the Indigo at the O2 was scheduled for 10 rounds, will move from the 2,350-seat venue to roughly 30 metres away for his next outing.

dave allen would be a good opponent. joe looked great on his debut so i think he'd be able to beat allen fairly handily.

They should give him Nick Webb for the English, since Warren decided to go in a different direction with Gorman

That would be a good shout.

I do wonder though if Frank has other plans for that English title, as im not sure what benefit there was to Gorman pulling out of the Webb fight.

Maybe his appeal to let Dubois fight for Domestic titles early has been granted?

Yeah true, I never really considered Frank's angle for switching up the opponent. It's a bit of a confusing move

In all honesty, if I was Joyce's promoter I'd give him someone he could brutally KO for this undercard fight. Making him face a guy who was durable and technically competent on his debut seems to have backfired a bit in terms of generating hype. Let him get his Dubois vs Carter moment here and then give him another real opponent like Sexton, Allen, Price, etc., to headline the next Dave show
