This coming December 2, it will mark the end of an era in boxing as four-division world champion Miguel Cotto (41-5, 33 KOs) will enter the ring for the final time to defend his WBO junior middleweight title against Sadam "World Kid" Ali (25-1, 14 KOs). Sure we believe you. The 154 vacant belt holder couldn't pick a fighter in his weight class to fight him due to politics.

That's some straight up BS. Austin f***ing Trout would have been a better choice.

        Hahahaha ****** bull

Cotto avoids any threat unless he’s overpaid by a couple of million

The guy fought everyone but he does not have the hunger to fight any top fighter

Everyone Miguel tried to fight was smaller and from a lower weight. Many cats at 154, who had bigger names than Ali, would have fought Cotto.

I believe promoters do prevent big fights like roach said. But not in this case I don't think that applies because Mikey Garcia and Errol Spence Jr would have taken the fight if they weren't forced to sign with Golden Boy!! Unless that was what he's referring to!!.' But still those guys are at a lower weight class!!

1st of all, Cotto pursued the WBO 154lb. title. Why? 2nd, Cotto chose to sign with GBP. Why? What stars do GBP have @ 154? 3rd, most of the offers to fight Cotto (that I've seen) went to 147lb. fighters. Why? All that being said, great career, thick beautiful wife, you'll be missed! SALUTE!

Then why don't the power players in boxing, like Freddie Roach, do something about it??? Why don't they speak more on it, more frequently, and more specifically? Which promoters? What was offered? Why didn't they go to the WBC or WBA and say "look we made this fair offer but this promoter is blocking the fight even though his fighter wants it. Can you please mandate it, or do your best to force the promoter's hand? And if necessary, can you join with us to publicize what this bad promoter is doing that is hurting his own fighter as well as boxing, so that we can try to pressure him publicly into no longer ****ing up the sort?"

Everyone agrees that this is a big problem in boxing, but when are the people who have power within boxing going to do something to change it?
