Comments Thread For: Arum: Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence is a Big PPV Fight!

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is already mapping out the welterweight future of former undisputed junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford (32-0, 23 KOs). Back in August, Crawford knocked out Julius Indongo in three rounds to unify the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO junior welterweight titles. Since then, Crawford has vacated the WBO and IBF titles - and officially announced his intention to invade the welterweight division. He will be vacating the WBC and WBA title shortly.

It could be huge fall 2019 but it all depends on what they do between now and then. They would have to clean out the division but as long as other fighters make excuses to avoid each of them, I don't see it being a huge fight with the casual fans. I hope I'm wrong!

It's a rare occasion that I agree with Arum, but I'm with him on this one! I would pay to see Spence vs. Crawford before I would pay to see Joshua vs. Wilder, or even the rematch between GGG-Canelo!

There’s definitely enough names to keep these guys busy, in the mean time Spence has Thurman, Garcia, Porter etc and Crawford has Horn and... is Clottey still with top rank?

No but theres Pacquiao and Ponomorov on top rank as well as brook, mathysse, and bunch of other top 20 welterweights who fight for different promoters so crawford will keep busy too after he wins the wbo and keep getting bigger and bigger fighting on espn. The question is will the top guys at pbc duck him? Diaz and molina are pbc so we know its possible for arum and haymon to work together so if crawford vs the top guys at pbc cant get done we'll know theyre ducking crawford. After crawford gets the wbo and becomes top dog at 147 the pbc guys wont be able to duck him forever

Crawford should not be fighting anybody but the top 10. But at least you know arum. Horn v Crawford and once he gets the belt then he will have stay busy fights. Matthysse sounds about right Brooks done at WW. I don’t see arum matching him with all the top guys and not because he won’t be able to because he won’t want too

Then obviously you dont know arum because he has no problem putting his fighters in dangerous fights. Mikey garcia ran to haymom when arum tried to put him with gamboa for a million dollars and chavez jr ran to haymon when arum tried to put him in with ggg for 8 million. Put loma in with russel jr his second fight coming off a loss ect ect i could go on forever
