Comments Thread For: WBA Vote To Make VADA Drug Testing Program Mandatory

The World Boxing Association (WBA) Board of Directors voted in favor of the "Fair Boxing" program being implemented in a compulsory way in the regional and world fighting championships for the top 15 rankings of the organization. During the second shift of the WBA Board Meeting, they agreed by voting that boxers for this type of fights should be enrolled in the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) program. The motion was proposed by the President of the WBA, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, as a way to achieve a fairer sport.

Now if the IBF & WBO just follow suit championship level boxing becomes more on the up & up & ideally all these groups can agree to work together & line up punishments among all the abc groups. Perhaps even get country & state commissions at some point too cuz all this sh^t needs to be streamlined so a guy can't pop dirty for a WBC title fight & then go fight for a WBO title in 3 months & sh^t like that.

Within 10 years this has now become a reality. Back in 2009/2010 when we backed this, we were told “Let the commission do their jobs” and called names. No it’s becoming the norm. The sad bit is, even when you are regularly tested and pass if people want to point the finger at you they would still do that.

                    Apologies to Gilberto Mendoza

I am sorry for my misbehavior toward you Gilberto Mendoza. I made ugly comments with insults with bad words against you with compulsive and emotionally invested. Not excuses here. Please, accept my apology from the bottom from my heart If this true, then you have the most respect in me. I hope you pardon me. The next time, I have more patience toward you. I am glad you are sorting out and that take time. My sincerest Apology again. I want all the fighters under the banner of WBA to be tested. That is good news.
