Comments Thread For: Braehmer Turns Back The Clock, Gears Up For Callum Smith

Three weeks after his 39th birthday, Germany's Juergen Braehmer slowed down the Tick-Tack Master once again when he convincingly defeating previously unbeaten but ultimately untested American import Rob Brant via a wide unanimous decision over twelve mostly forgettable rounds. The fight, which defined the last of the World Boxing Super Series semi-finalists, took place in Braehmer's backyard - the Sports and Congress Center of Schwerin, Germany, his hometown.

smith looks huge..I believe that's what he has going for him in the tournament.. he looks like a cruiserweight against a former light heavyweight in braehmer but braehmer showed in his last fight he is no walk in the park..should be fun.. let's find out if callum smith is the real deal

Brant was moving up a weight class and moving up in competition level at the same time, all the while traveling to his opponent's backyard to fight. Sure he got outboxed, but that's like calling Canelo an average fighter because he got schooled by Floyd.

Sauerland wouldn't have allowed Braehmer to fight the unknown, untested middleweight - even at home - if they thought Brandt had a chance. FFS he wasn't even a top 25 middleweight, let along a super middleweight. Smith will be a tougher fight.
