Comments Thread For: Katie Taylor Drops, Dominates Sanchez; Wins WBA Lightweight Title

Katie Taylor won her first world title in impressive fashion Saturday night. The Irish star out-classed Argentina's Anahi Sanchez during their 10-round fight to win the WBA women's lightweight title on the Anthony Joshua-Carlos Takam undercard at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Taylor dropped Sanchez with a body shot in the second round and won convincingly by the same score on all three cards (99-90).

She has to learn to pace herself better and sit on her punches more, even though thats something that no woman ever did well....besides Ann Wolfe maybe. And i have never seen a female defensive genius as well.....women are not born to fight! They may have courage and most seem verry tough but it seems to be verry hard for them to learn good boxing technique.

good fight, katie needs to sit behind her shots at times but she's good offensively. Needs defensive work for sure.

To be honest and am routinely underwhelmed by female boxing at any level.

Katie Taylor is the real deal in the 135 lbs. I hope more from her

I am sorry, but, I enjoy female boxing and male boxing in the same magnitude. Katie Taylor is entertaining and Sanchez made the best out of Katie Taylor. Katie have the skills to improve more. She need to work in her defense and sit on her punches more. Katie Taylor have power, good counter technique, especially that beautiful body shot and she accurate. Looking forward for her next fight. Also Katie Taylor have a good engine and chin.
