Comments Thread For: Hearn Explains Why Joshua-Whyte II Was Not Possible for 10/28

A few days ago, it was revealed by IBF, WBA, IBO heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) that he immediately requested a rematch with Dillian Whyte in the wake of Kubrat Pulev's withdrawal from their scheduled fight on October 28 in Cardiff. Joshua did not get his wish - as Pulev with ultimately replaced by Carlos Takam (35-3-1, 27 KOs) on twelve days notice.

Takam, Hammer, Miller und Whyte are next in line, hell man those be some shyt rankings right there, shame the Pulev fight is off until April but even then I don't see AJ having too many problems.

Pulev declined Joshua 2 or 3 times before so thats Karma . Hopefully Joshua can skip that fight entirely bc theres better match ups style wise for him , Takam is one of them bc it will have little pause in between punches .

The way I understand it is that Pulev (assuming that the rankings stay the same) would still be Joshuas mandatory BUT the Takam fight counts as a mandatory defense. So in that case Joshua would not be required to make a mandatory defense against Pulev for quite some time.
