  • Comments Thread For: Hearn is Firm: I Want Wilder-Whyte Next, Never 50-50 For Joshua!

Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs), is standing firm. He wants WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) to fight Dillian Whyte next - preferably on February 2 at the O2 Arena in London. All three heavyweights will be in action in the next two weeks. Joshua defends his belts against Carlos Takam on October 28th in Cardiff. Wilder will defend his title against Bermane Stiverne in a mandatory rematch on November 4 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Also as part of that card, Whyte will face Robert Helenius for the WBC silver title.

I think this negotiation for this potential super fight is heading down the GGG vs Canelo road.

Hopefully this fight happens sometime next year but I think it won't happen till the year after.

Hearns comments do not help at all whether us fans agree with them or not.

Hearn calls the shots. If he tells haynon and wilder "dance for me boy" then they better start dancing

Eddie Hearns understands that bum Dillian Whyte is going nowhere as such hes using Joshua as leverage so that he can cash out on beetlejuice -- that way he gets paid TWICE when Deontay takes him to the cleaners for both of his boxers, smart move.

Yeah... the draw isn't Wilder, it's Joshua. I know Wilder fans will argue, but them's the breaks. Wilder will whine, pizz, moan, head spin 360, load his drawers, P his pants and sob uncontrollably... but in the end he won't get anywhere with any of that. If he's the badazz he seems to think he is, Whyte would be an easy nights work and a meal ticket to his biggest payday ever. And a 60-40 split or thereabouts would be totally fair. Time for him and his fans to wake up and stop yelling 'Ducker!' to Joshua. He isn't. He's the man at HW and Wilder and his people need to hurry up and realize that so we can get the show on the road next year.

The way pathetic Hearn talks is the more reason why Wilder should not fight Whyte. He talks as if Wilder is one of his fighters. Wilder does not have to fight Whyte for any reason - Whyte is not a serious fight. Only in the minds of Hearn and his delusional UK fans.

If Hearn is that terrible in the way he deals with the opposing team, then Wilder should make him pay for it to clean up his mess. Also, why the constant negotiation through the media? AJ is his only cash cow. Once Wilder beats him up, then we will never hear of Hearn again - this is the same stuff Haye was talking about; Hearn trying to make himself more relevant than the fighters he is supposed to promote.

Dillian Whyte is completely irrelevant. All this makes AJ's team look shaky. Hearn wants somebody/anybody to knock Wilder off so that Joshua doesn't have to face him. AJ vs DW is the biggest fight that can be made in the division so why wait? It won't get any bigger.
