Comments Thread For: Pulev: It Was Tough Decision To Withdraw From Joshua Fight

Kubrat Pulev was less than two weeks away from a world title shot, when he suffered a shoulder injury. He was in full training to challenge WBA, IBO, IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua before a crowd of 70,000 fans in Cardiff - with Showtime and Sky Sports Box Office showcasing the event. After Pulev withdrew, he was replaced by the next IBF challenger in line, Carlos Takam, who accepted the fight on short notice but was fully training as a backup opponent for the possibility of replacing Pulev.

Or maybe it was tough to get things out of your system, Pulev.

He missed out on 5 million.. That's his career highest. He "only" got 1.3 mil to fight Klitschko which is his highest payday till this day.

So I believe he is injured.. Anyone would just attend and take a dive for 5mil but he has lost his mandatory position now so he won't get this pay check anymore.

Kubrat is probably going to face the winner of Jarrell Miller vs. Mariusz Wach if his mando was revoked, but I don't know how the 'Injury' helps his case with the IBF. Then you take into account a possible tune-up.

All other contenders ranked by the IBF have big fights and half will come out with an L -- minus Alexander Dimitrenko.

Pulev is a ****ing idiot. I'd have to be damn near dead to turn down that pay day. He can try to look smart by using words like vicissitudes all he wants, but this statement right here will last forever to prove what a moron this guy is, "My wealth is the undying love of the Bulgarian people, from whom I always buy strength and inspiration and that gives me the meaning of everything I do!" At least he gets to go home and suck his pop star girlfriends' big, fake *******

For 5 mil at his age with very obscure boxing future and very distant possibility of another title shot for that kinda money is fight in a wheelchair. Roll me out and put the gloves on. Damn, id throw crotches and shoes at AJ just to last enough to qualify for 5 mil.

The same muppets here would be moaning if he put in a below par performance because of his injury. It's always a disappointment but that's boxing.A.J. has under two weeks to adapt to a completely different style and fight so they are doing their bit to keep the show in order.Whether it should still be PPV in up for discussion .

You guys would just complain if Joshua knocked Pulev out early if he then told everyone he had been injured and you would claim he should have let someone else fight ,end of !

Is he injured ? Well no logical personal turns down 5 mill. at his stage and loses his top position in the process ,now he will have to establish uneccessary work fighting more fights to get back !

Does he not care about money as he states ? Well he turned down Joshua 3 times already bc he said the price wasnt enough !
