Former world champion Omar Narvaez is back in the world title picture after securing a technical knockout victory over previously undefeated Russian contender Nikolai Potapov after seven rounds of action. The fight was a WBO final eliminator for the opportunity to face bantamweight world champion Zolani Tete of South Africa. At Argentina's Obras Stadium, called Templo del Rock, and before a crowd of over 2,200 spectators, the former flyweight and super fly world champion of the WBO was in full control from beginning to end.

This guy is the biggest cherry picker in boxing history.

Narváez ducked Manny Rodriguez months ago and preferred fight to this bum of Russia than barely won the fight vs the bum of Antonio Nieves (the guy that was killed by Inoue easly)

Nice win for Narváez. Didn't think he had it in him at 42 to move up and beat anyone beyond domestic level so far removed from his title days. Can't see him beating Tete at this age but I guess you never know
