Comments Thread For: How Much Time in on Erislandy Lara's Side?

By Cliff Rold - In September, it was "SuperFly." In just a bit more than a week, while there won't be as catchy a title for the card, we have a similar, and similarly intriguing, single night devoted to one of boxing's deepest divisions. On October 14th, three important fights at 154 lbs. will come a critical time. Demetrius Andrade appears headed to middleweight; Jermall Charlo is already there...

I think if both Lara & Hurd win they'll fight sometime in 2018

As a Lara fan I think you can chalk up the competition the last 2 years as I don't think he really enjoys fighting so he's just fighting some mid range competition letting the division heat up and now that it is , he's going to have 1 or 2 big fights before he retires.

Lara is on another level. He still has at least 5 years left. Gausha is in trouble. Cuban clinic will be on hand. All the other 154 pounders will lose to Lara.

          Whatever man

He didn't run against Angulo , Trout , Ishe , Williams and most others

He chose to use movement against Canelo because He has power and shown difficulty hanging with guys that can move he probably couldn't go the full 12 hanging with Alvarez similiAr to how Canelo probably couldn't hang with Gennady for 12 rounds.

          Both beat Canelo though

I still think Lara would've beaten Mayweather @ 154! However his stalled career is partly his fault. Lara vs. Andrade should've happened next week! I think it's time for Lara to move to 160 and fight Andrade, Jacobs, or Derevyanchenko, and put himself in position to face either Canelo or GGG!
