Comments Thread For: Luis Nery PED Ruling To Be Made Very Shortly, Says Sulaiman

By this coming Wednesday, the World Boxing Council intends to resolve the case of Mexico's Luis Nery, who tested positive for zilpaterol (substance similar to clenbuterol) prior to his fight with Shinsuke Yamanaka last August. Nery (24-0, 18 KOs), who was the mandatory challenger, traveled to Japan in August and knocked out Yamanaka in four rounds to capture the WBC bantamweight title.

        People is fuc.king ignorant.

Saying that clembuterol or zalpiterol makes fighters strongers, biggers and more durables.

        Bull****.

A fighter train to cut weight, animals, cut weight.

And those substances makes gain muscles to the cows.

        What a stu.pid logic?

Mexico is a country totally corrupt, probably I'm full of clembuterol too.

          Another fact.

Look the others cases of PED of the rest of the world.

Nobody use zalpiterol or clembuterol, they used other substances.

          Only Mexican fighters.

          That's strange...

Clembuterol is used most of times in cyclists because they need gain muscle in his legs.

          In boxing is ******.

My guess is that they return the belt to Yamanaka. Tell Nery that they're watching him. Make his next fight an interim title fight and if he wins and stays clean they'll order the Yamanaka rematch.

Don't you need to eat a whole cow to test positive for clenbuterol/zilpaterol?

Anyway, my guess, he used zilpaterol to cut weight during the camp at Tijuana which was caught and tested positive on July 27.
After cutting enough weight, he does not need zilpaterol so the tests in Japan came back negative.
                    Makes sense to me.

If clenbuterol/zilpaterol doesn't make fighters strong then why is it categorized as Performance Enhancing Drugs?
I am no expert so I don't really know what it does to humans.
I read somewhere that bodybuilders use it to cut down weight before competition.

No matter what the real effect of the drugs are, if you are competing under a rule and the rule states that clenbuterol/zilpaterol are not allowed, I don't see any reasonable excuse to give him a pass.

I just hope WBC comes up with a fair resolution. (Unlikely though)
