Comments Thread For: Pulev Admits Fight Against Anthony Joshua Will Be "Terrifying"

At least Kubrat Pulev was honest. Other than that, though, it's nothing short of odd that the heavyweight contender admitted Monday during a press conference in Cardiff, Wales, that his upcoming fight against Anthony Joshua will be a "terrifying" experience. Bulgaria's Pulev (25-1, 13 KOs) will challenge the unbeaten British knockout artist October 28 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Have to wonder if that's a proper translation or if he meant it was a big risk etc. Just doesn't fit Pulev's personality.

Wow! Just as bad as Hoe Saunders saying GGG would beat him and Eubank Jr on the same nite!

These fighters these days have no tact at all!

Yet folks trashed on fighters like Gonzalez, Kovalev and Donaire but they all challenged themselves!

To be honest, this fight is blah... With that being said, Pulev didn't say why it was terrifying. Is it AJ, the crowd, magnitude of winning such a fight, etc.? Either way, terrified or not, AJ should handle him readily...

Definitely strikes me as a translation issue. Seems like poor form to run with a quote like this. But the writers on this site aren't going to miss any opportunity to discredit a Hearn fight.

I see why Joshua insisted on fighting Pulev now, 'Son they shook!'.

Good way to promote the fight. A terrified taxi driver against a glorified weight lifter.

Just like that old episode of "Taxi" when Tony Danza had to box then-little-known Arnold Schwarzenegger. It didn't end well for the taxi driver.
