Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Going 12 Rounds With Jacobs Gave Golovkin Confidence

However you think Gennady Golovkin looked against Daniel Jacobs, Abel Sanchez knows that fight served an important purpose for the Kazakh knockout artist entering his career-defining fight against Canelo Alvarez. Golovkin won a close unanimous decision over Jacobs and struggled at times to deal with Jacobs' boxing ability and movement during their middleweight title fight March 18 at Madison Square Garden.

Sounds like an excuse or that it was all planned out for a fix in the Canelo fight to make it go 12 rounds to protect Canelo as boxing's future cash cow and let GGG get rematch money. Because otherwise this makes no sense, seeing as GGG already went 11 with Martin Murray. If he had never been past 8 or 9 or even 10, then it might make sense, but seeing as he went 11 with Murray with plenty left in the tank, it makes no sense.

Before Jacobs Golovkin didn't know what he would be like at the end of 12 and now he does. Can't hurt knowing that.

Arguably losing a 12 round decision gave GGG confidence - the SPIN IS REAL!

LMAO cant wait for the excuses come Saturday and Sunday nite!

Sanchez is def the type to throw some excuses out when/if GGG loses!

Golovkin seems like that way too, when he finds out he's fighting someone that can counter a jab and get to him first we'll see if he sticks to the jab or just "street fight" as he says!

I think they have no chance of winning decision, especially with the judges they got for the fight. GGG must KO or TKO Canelo, only way...

If it goes 12 rounds then we are going to see robbery of the century. Canelo is going to win on the scorecards even if he gets outclassed.

New experiences dealing with tough circumstances can be a confidence builder - make you more complete in whatever it is that you do. But you're right: fight week = spin week.

Able is full of BS. He's priming the Bumlovkinite crowd for the excuses that are sure to come if they lose.
