Comments Thread For: Williams Believes Liam Smith Intentionally Used His Head

Liam Williams has spent the time since his first bout with Liam Smith preparing to avenge the controversial defeat. He will get the chance in Newcastle on November 11th as the fighters aim to end any lingering doubts as to who is the best Super-Welterweight in Britain. The Welshman feels he was robbed of a proper conclusion due to the laceration over his eyelid and says he was prepared for Smith to make a late charge.

Smith fight style is phone boot in nature so Williams have to box him.

Looked the part against domestic opposition coming up but really surprised me vs Smith. I was expecting Smith to blast him out as he had fought at a much higher level but Williams was winning well at the time of the stoppage and outboxing Smith in the majority of the rounds. Smith did seem to neglect his usual thunderous body work and tried to be macho and go toe and kinda head hunted a bit.It did look like Smith was coming on strong in the later rounds though so the rematch should be interesting.

Is Williams's British title on the line, or is it another one of FW's WBO trinkets?
