The violence continues in Mexico. In 2017, several fighters and/or their family members have been victims of violence in various cities within Mexico. The latest incident took place in La Paz, Baja California Sur - where Mexican Olympian Raul Castaneda was ambushed by a storm of bullets and later died. Castenada was being chased down as he was driving his car, when bullets were fired at his car. Witnesses testified that Castaneda was hit by some of the bullets, lost control of his car and crashed into another vehicle.
