Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Canelo-GGG Has Strong Argument as Best in The World

Question: Gennady is the middleweight champion and the No. 1 P4P on most lists. What would a victory over Canelo Alvarez add to that? Why is it that you and Gennady wanted this fight more than any other? Abel Sanchez - "I think the winner of this fight on September 16 clearly establishes the best middleweight in the world as well as a strong argument for the best fighter in the sport. The winner will also be one of the most marketable fighters as well as the top of the pound for pound list, which doesn't always go hand in hand.

Pretty crazy that if he wins this fight and then fights Saunders and beats him too he'd be unified and also tied for the record.

Cashnelo fan here. Even if Saul KTFO Gennady in 1st round he is still behind Ward, Loma, Rigo, and TC.

Gennady can only stake #1 PFP if he beats Ward, Kovy, or Adonis. Otherwise he is a 1-weight champ full of C level fighters and 3 good wins

I'm trying to figure out how he's one fight away from tying the title defense record. That doesn't seem right to me.

Somebody help me out. I'm sure they're counting some b.s. fights.

Yeah but Ward's accomplished a lot so it's really for #2

p4p is kind of ******, in the excitement he'll probably get raised back to #1. Ward and Golovkin could switch back and forth after every fight for a couple years.

Here we go again....Ward is the P4P King! The best in the world right now NOT the winner of this fight!

I don't think either would surpass ward. Also, has there ever been a fighter from México that was the #1 p4p fighter? Maybe Chavez but I think many had Whitaker ahead of him.
