Comments Thread For: Older, mature Canelo a much more dangerous PPV proposition

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Three years, 11 months and 22 days. That's how long it's been since Saul Alvarez entered the ring as a newbie. Lest anyone forget, that night Sept. 14, 2013, to be exact a 23-year-old version of Canelo stepped in against the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, and, after 36 minutes of one-sided combat, was determined to be not quite ready for a prime-time Money shot...

the entire fight will certainly be competitive and the duration of the fight will depend on how Canelo endures GGG torture.

Oscar could have waited for a year or two for GGG to decline in performance while Canelo build himself well into the middleweight with 3 or 4 credible fights with at least 3 credible middleweights before facing GGG. A fight with Billy Joe Saunders, Lemiuex & Martin Murray should have taken place before facing GGG. Oscar made the same mistake by rushing Canelo to face Mayweather prematurely, hence his lost.

            Almost sounds like Ward/Kovalov I.

            Power vs. Skills

I'm not a Canelo fan but I respect his skills. I favor Golovkin to pull off the win but if this fight delivers (which I'm sure it will) and both fighters give an amazing performance they both of their stocks will rise in my opinion. This has all the ingredients to be a classic that's if none of them retreat and fight the way they've fought up to this point.

                +1

Both of them have shown great chins that can withstand a war, so I can see that both could come out of this fight better.

Boxing needs Canelo to win and start learning English (lazy mofo). If GGG wins, it'll be bad for boxing because GGG can't sell **** and even if he fought Ward - he wouldn't do a million PPV buys.

I think if the fight goes to decision the Judges will rob GGG - even if he dominates the fight - nowadays - it's easy for the Media to make people believe anything they want - **** - they had people actually saying Bradley beat Pacquiao and Horn beat Pacquiao... two of the judges in the Conor-Floyd fight actually gave Floyd the first two rounds - Floyd even admitted he was giving Conor the first 3 rounds and he would come on in round 4 lol...

I'm expecting a huge robbery to go in Canelo's favor because he brings more money to Vegas.

You ever consider that GGG could completely dominate Canelo over 12 rounds? People are buying into whatever the media wants them to believe like sheep...

Canelo hasn't even fought anyone even close to the size and skill of GGG...
