Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce's Pro Debut Could Come Against Ian Lewison

Joe Joyce's professional debut could be a stern test against recent British heavyweight title challenger Ian Lewison (12-3-1, KOs). Lewison, 35, who retired in the 10th round of his fight against Dillian Whyte for the vacant British strap last October in Glasgow appeared to confirm the news on his Twitter account @IanLewison when asked late last night (September 1).

Not bad at all. Looks like Haye & Richard are going to fast track him. Lewison is better than both Mark Di Mori and 'The Cobra'.

That's good. Looks like they appreciate the need to move him quickly. Barring any mishaps he could be fighting for the British title at the end of his first year. Just needs to make sure his cardio and pacing is right

Joyce will be 32 years old this month, compare that with 'Triple D' Dynamite Daniel Dubois who will turn 20 years old soon and has already had 4 Pro fights and will be fighting for the British Heavyweight Title either at the end of 2017 or early 2018.

They might as well gamble with Joyce and move him tough now rather then wait 3 or 4 years and find out he doesn't have what it takes at 35/36.

To be fair this isn't bad for Joyce first pro fight - but you're right Dubois is on another level... such a talented kid.

That's a tough debut. Lewison doesn't fight much but he's certainly not a journeyman. We have some decent heavyweights at all levels at the moment and it's gonna be interesting to see what happens. The British HW title fights will be worth watching.

I can't hate on that when most people with 100-300 amateur fights are on the 2yr plan to fight that same guy.

Sounds like they're going to be aggressive with Joyce. If he's not ready for the pro game, Lewison could win this fight. Good British level brawler
