  • Comments Thread For: Arum Slams Mayweather, McGregor For 'Regrettable' Boxing Bout

Top Boxing promoters Bob Arum and Oscar De La Hoya have joined a number of others in the boxing world to condemn the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight as a farce. De La Hoya said that what he saw in the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was a shame in all aspects and made a mockery of the sport, as the fight contained no actual boxing.

I was one of many who bashed this fight before it happened on Saturday.

But the actual fight itself wasn't bad. It was entertaining while it lasted. Whether it was planned to be competitive for awhile or whether it was legit is the question.

It can keep you guessing, but at the end of the day the fight was a lot better than I thought it would be. So in that regard, it served it's purpose.

Bob and Oscar need to chillax man and focus on their own fighters and fights coming up. The Mayweather-McGregor fight didn't turn out too bad at all. It was a good event and fight. Boxing is still here, let's move on. Move on already Bob, Oscar. Let's close out this year with at least one more big fight at the end of the year.

These dude need to just chill. I don't hear Haymon nor Floyd ****ting on their promotions. This goes to show the type of character and personality these guys are. It goes to show the aim of their law suits was nothing other than to try and destroy what Al Haymon and Mayweather are doing. Rather than focusing on their own promotion, like the poster above pointed out, they rather spend their time bashing other people's promotion. Really pathetic....they are ones killing the sport.

People wanted Floyd to KO him in rd 1 so they could say "See I told you Conor had no business being in there with a professional boxer. This is a disgrace and bad for boxing". Now that it went 10 rds they change the narrative to "Conor should've never lasted 10 rds with a professional fighter. This is bad for boxing. Boxing lost and MMA won"

No matter what happened people were ready to call it bad for boxing and say Floyd destroyed the sport.

That's all that matters. As long as people who paid for the fight are happy.

Says Bob, who's brought us such quality match ups as Pacquiao vs Horn this year, and Oscar, who saw all his GGG PPV ££'s disappear before his eyes once this fight was signed.

End of the day, it's just sour g****s that Golden Boy or Top Rank were not a part of the biggest event in Boxing history. Mayweather, UFC and McGregor did it all by themselves and they hate that.
