Comments Thread For: Mayweather TKOs McGregor As Everyone Should Have Expected

By Corey Erdman - For about three rounds, the majority of the boxing world held its breath. Over the course of nine minutes, Floyd Mayweather looked like he wasn't doing exactly what he wanted inside the boxing ring for the first time in who knows how long, and the man standing across from him punching him as it was happening was an MMA fighter, Conor McGregor. Put another way, Conor McGregor may have actually given us more doubt about whether Floyd Mayweather would win than any fighter during any fight in recent memory.

In a UFC fight, McGregor would have many options if his punches stopped landing or if he were getting hit too often.
Like shoot for a takedown against an opponent with a vastly superior ground game and then give up his back?

Conor is great so long as he stays in the kiddie pool. When he gets taken into deep water, more often than not he has drowned.

That wasn't a fight. McPawn was fighting more to not get disqualified, so he could make his millions. And fraud was scared to KO this novice too quick, because he didn't want a situation, where people were asking for a refund. He carried McPawn for 5 rounds, and then turned it up.

This scam of a "fight" was THE perfect way for Floyd to end his career. To me, it exemplifies the easy path he took north of 135, coupled with long layoffs and fake retirements.

He finished his career fighting Berto and McPawn. He didn't even beat a Garcia or a porter to end his career. Smh

                I say good riddance!

...but yeah, easy path and such a shame he didn't fight Porter at 38 years old.

                  Dude STFU.

Making out he's Sven Ottke or something when pretty much his whole resume north of 135 is HOF fighters.

We can allow the McGregor fight, as a one-off, given he was already a retired fighter.

Floyd has taken that proverbial one step back but he was far more skilled than McGregor and I sent from the sixth round on he could have taken him out anytime you wanted to as well as any of the better Fighters at 154 would have beaten McGregor worse...
