Comments Thread For: McGregor Motivated By Dismissive Boxing Fans, Vows to 'Educate'

Conor McGregor has been surprised by how most boxing fans have completely dismissed him and his chances of upsetting Floyd Mayweather Jr. McGregor figured he'd get more credit for the boxing ability he has exhibited as one of the best stand-up fighters in UFC. He has found, however, that boxing enthusiasts generally view him as a hopelessly overmatched novice with next to no shot at beating the best boxer of this era Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

You are not even close to being the best fighter in your own sport. You never fought a pro boxer. You got worked by Chris Van Heerden. Are fans being dismissive or logical. Floyd needs to end this early tired of him and his imaginary friend Bruce Lee

I have an open mind, Conor. I have an open mind that Floyd's gonna whoop that ass like he did Gatti and Corrales.

Settle down McNugget. You're funny and I'm a fan of yours when you fight in the UFC but you are getting stopped.

His ego is very fragile. He hears everything that is said about him and has to respond. If Floyd starts to make him look silly early, he could look for a way out.

Such a sweet lad. Love his camp talk. Floyd will get a black eye from Spence in past camps, pushing himself--it's why Floyd is one of the greats. Sparring with the best there is to offer. Conor always looks like he's fresh out of the shower after every post training interview they do, which tells you they're feeding him people that he can finally beat now instead of a Paulie or what was the other guy's name--a Chris Van Heerden. They're building his confidence instead of making him better. None of your movement BS matters if it's not going against top level opposition. And Mayweather spars against the top. And now Conor is saying he has no interest against Canelo or GGG lol. He wants a 130-135 pound guy in Lomachenko he says? Mayweather is going to make him look far worse than Canelo or GGG because his skill and the way he'll miss will just be embarrassing. I really think Floyd knocks this guy out. Conor could probably go 12 if he had 10 or 20 fights under his belt, but mental and physical will align and he'll tire regardless once he gets frustrated.

Conor has gone from great self belief to delusional.

So this guy thinks he can come into Boxing, say "I am Boxing" but it's also "safe", "easy" and "half a fight" all whilst being 0-0 Amateur and Professional?

Goes to a media workout and does the spaghetti arms and the "could my feet me any more sqaure" jumpercuts.

Then wonders why he is a laughing stock in the boxing world?

All he has done is disrespect boxing. Totally disrespected it. How I see people like Hatton, Haye, Froch, Bellew and other boxers say they hope McGregor wins boggles my mind.
