Comments Thread For: Pacquiao-Horn: Funding Pulled Until Manny Commits To Rematch

Brisbane City Council has for now withdrawn its financial support for a rematch between Australian WBO welterweight world champion Jeff Horn and Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao. The man who holds the purse strings, Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, has told News Corp Australia that he wants confirmation from promoters that Pacquiao has signed on for the fight before he commits to marketing the event.

This sounds like one of the first moves towards lining up Crawford vs Horn. Gotta get Manny out of the mix first. Thats the ideal situation for TR. Cuz then if Manny wants to fight again its Crawford or nothing from there. And thats what I believe TR really wants.

Didn't they report a couple of weeks ago that Pac was exercising his rematch clause? I honestly don't wanna see Pac fight again, ever. It's getting too sad at this point.

I said months before this fight that you dont take on no names and risk losing a bad decision or getting cut and delaying bigger fights and some idiot argued with me forever about how there is no way that would happen and both did when Pac got cut and lost a bad decision. The joke is on Pac for not demanding a bigger fight. At least if he lost, he wouldnt have been in this cesspool with a no name like he is now.

Well that shouldn't take long. I'm pretty sure Pac will sign once Arum starts pressing him.

Pac already said he wanted the rematch so it won't be long I'm sure for Pac to sign off.

Wasn't there a rematch clause in the contract and Pac said he was going to exercise it.
