I have serious doubts Arum would allow that fight to happen for the risk to Valdez losing, but maybe because he won't pay enough to make it happen on ESPN & he won't allow Valdez to take more money for that fight to happen elsewhere.

I think all the fighters would be cool with making the fight doe. But the business of boxing consistently f#cks sh^t up.

Thats where I think people are misguided by Arum. He will sacrifice a guy for the right $$$ but it has to make financial sense to him. I honestly think Al Haymon is more protecting of his guys. Arum is a stubborn old mule though and wont pick up the phone to negotiate. If Haymon wanted to pit his fighter against Arums, hed have to call and make a nice round number offer. Problem is, a guy like Valdez is talent, a lot more talented than LSC and Mares. Russel is a toss up imo...

I wouldn't say Loma was much of anything at that point when he was 1-1. He was in theory a good fighter more than proven to be a good fighter even in spite of the Olympic medals.

And even then if we count its 2 fights?. Thats it lol?

And I mean he's kinda notorious for not working well with others. So if he works with an outside guy he's gonna want options or he's gonna wanna lowball people. And if he's willing to let a legit draw go to another promoter he wants way more money then usual & no options. So its a position where not much can happen within those boundaries in the first place.
