Comments Thread For: Lomachenko Could See Luke Campbell Shocking Jorge Linares

WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko is not confident that Jorge Linares (42-3, 27 KOs) will walk away with his WBA lightweight title when he steps in the ring with mandatory challenger Luke Campbell (17-1, 14 KOs). The twelve round bout will headline an HBO televised card from Los Angeles' "Fabulous" Forum on September 23. Besides his world title, Linares is also risking his 11-fight win streak.

STRanger things have happened. He's lost to worse fighters than Campbell but I do expect him to win.

Loma sucks. He fights cans. I couldn't even watch the Marriaga fight. It didn't hold my concentration. What good is all that skill if your too coward to fight top competition like Rigo or Mikey. I guess after fighting Walters they lost the desire to fight the best.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Campbell seems kind of inconsistent in regards to power, at times he's looked flaccid but other times he's looked devastating, against a mix of opposition. Linares is notoriously pretty chinny and Campbell has some skills, so if he shows up and puts on his best performance I can see him pulling off a shock. But on the other hand, Linares looked brilliant both times against Crolla and seems to be riding high right now. I'd say it's probably something like a 65-35 split in his favour.

Salido, gary Russell jr, roman martinez, Nicholas walters, all in 9 fights. Yeah he's definitely going down the wilder route lol

I like Campbell but it could be said that the best fighter he fought in Yvan Mendy dealt with Campbell quite well i thought and Linares is much better than Mendy.

I want to hear from Loma only about Garcia, Rigo and Salido II.

cant see it tbh, would like campbell to do well as a brit but hes packing glass and has a real frail, amateur style look to him. reminds me of a worse version of amir khan.

I actually expect Campbell to win this.
Linares was made to look amazing by crolla because crolla is very basic as are all Gallagher fighters, Mitchell had linares in a lot of trouble, Campbell is a lot better than both those guys
