Comments Thread For: Andrade: I Want Erislandy Lara, But He's Fighting Somebody Else

By defeating Jack Culcay on March 11th in Germany, Demetrius Andrade (24-0, 16 KOs) captured the 'regular' version of the WBA 154-pound title and he believed a shot was secured at the WBA 'super champion' Erislandy Lara (24-2-2, 14 KOs).

So why is he fighting nobody? He should sign with Haymon. At least Jermell, Lara, Lubin, ect fight twice a year...

Andrade.....your team sucks. Try another promoter before you lose your fake title for inactivity (again).

I caught on when (1) he backed out of the Charlo fight and vacated (sometimes you have to take less money), then (2) didn't sign with Haymon after it was clear he needed him for his career..

Now he just continuously talks with little to nothing happening in his career. The Culcay fight was embarrassing too. He's just letting his talent slip away.

Andrade and Rigo - the 2 elite fighters who are the worst managed in the whole world.

Look at a guy like Indongo - you can't say his Namibian promoter can have more pull than Andrade's yet he has done what is necessary to get three belt fights in a row.

I do think Andrade is avoided at 154 but he should maybe recognize he is the B side in terms of major fights and accept a lower purse to get a big fight.

Maybe he saw something up with the Charlos - peds? You don't know the whole story, no one does. But his career is stagnant.

.. and it is taking the WBA a long time to unify their own titles - how ****** does that sound? - yet it's true
