  • Comments Thread For: Carl Froch Tabs George Groves as Slight Favorite To Win WBSS

Carl Froch considers George Groves the favourite for the super-middleweight edition of the upcoming World Boxing Super Series that starts next month. The 40-year-old, who retired as the WBA and IBF champion and once held the WBC title, also believes the competition can significantly advance Groves' and his rivals' careers.

"It's out of Groves, Eubank Jnr and Callum Smith to win it. Maybe Groves is the favourite, but not a strong favourite.''

Notice how Froch acknowledges that his tournament is a joke by having all the Brits as the favorite? why is this even considered a tournament? this is typical Brit match making. The truth is that this as Froch puts it 'little tournament' is just a instrument to hype another UK hype-job...maybe E.U bum jr. or Callum Smith...all's I know is that neither of these bums are on James Degale's level -- who Carl Froch ducked.

I don't agree with Groves winning it, but I agree its a 3 man race like Froch. Callum is damn near gifted a spot in the finals & Eubank Jr vs Groves in the semifinals will decide who fights him. If there are any upsets with those 3 it'll make that tournament bracket more interesting, but I don't expect any of them loses except to one of the other 2.

Groves has to be one of the favorites to win it all.

I wish degale, ramirez and benavidez were part of this tourney as well though.

I love Groves, but have to admit he looks shell of his former self since the Froch rematch. He's not as sharp and crisp as he used to be.

I think Eubank Jr has a pretty good shot at taking this.
