Mikey Garcia has consistently stated since his fight against Adrien Broner was announced last month that he intends to return to lightweight for his next bout. As we get closer to their July 29 fight in Brooklyn, though, Garcia (36-0, 30 KOs) seems more open to remaining at 140 pounds after battling Broner (33-2, 24 KOs, 1 NC). The WBC lightweight champion even mentioned moving up to welterweight while discussing the Broner bout as part of a conference call Thursday.

Garcia needs to stay at 135/140. Reason why they have weight classes. And just because you can bulk up barely to 147 doesn't mean those other guys walk around weight is the same. Most 147 lbers weigh 160. Everyone fights 1-2 weight classes LOWER. Not HIGHER.

WHOA! As my wife says: COJELO SUAVE! 135 to 140 is all good, but 147 is a no-no! If Mikey can't get Linares or Lomachenko @ 135, he should turn his focus to Crawford or Omar Figueroa Jr. @ 140!
