Comments Thread For: Joshua Believes Lack of Street Mentality Was Klitschko's Downfall

IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua - during the Sky Sports program 'AJ - History In The Making' - said his street mentality pulled him through in the April showdown with Wladimir Klitschko. Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) dropped Klitschko in the fifth round, but the veteran came roaring back by the end of the round and then dropped Joshua in the sixth. After some tough rounds, it was Joshua who rallied down the stretch and stopped Klitschko in the eleventh after two more knockdowns.

Mostly because one punch on the chin on the heavy weight division mostly knocks them out.

Yeah Im sure Wlad had a posh childhood in the Soviet Union. Nothing to do with him being 42 or anything. If only he grew up in an American ****** instead.

Nah, Klitschko was close to stopping Joshua. If he pounced on him as soon as Joshua was hurt, it would be different. Instead he chose to wait and try to break him down to a TKO - wrong tactic...Klitschko even admits he took his time after flooring Joshua.

Klitschko tried with his left hook to knock Joshua out, but he just doesn't have the reflexes of his prime self to land it clean. I was even annoyed on how much Klitschko misses with the left hook when it was one of his most accurate punches back in his prime.

It's also something to do with age Anthony. You can't beat father time. As for growing up on the streets you served up but you was hardly in the thick of gangland. Dillian Whyte did. He grew up down the road from me. Kids carry machetes round here. All Joshua was deprived of growing up was a pony. The Klitschkos didnt look like they came from privalage. They came from the kind of background where your dad gets sent out to clear up a melted down nuclear reactor.

                  More like lack of youth.

Is Joshua forgetting that the shot 41 year old nearly had him out of there. Fair play Joshua did what he needed but that was far from a convincing performance i think.

Imagine Holyfield saying he beat Foreman because George wasn't street enough. Age only matters when it suits people it seems.
