Comments Thread For: Omar Figueroa: Once I Hit Him Hard, Guerrero's Plan Will Change

Omar Figueroa hopes Robert Guerrero stands and trades with him throughout their 10-round welterweight fight Saturday night. The undefeated Figueroa just can't see that happening, not once he starts landing power punches against the veteran southpaw in their "PBC on FOX" main event at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. Guerrero's toughness and chin have served him extremely well throughout his career, but Figueroa figures Guerrero (33-5-1, 18 KOs, 2 NC) will take a different approach against him because he never stops coming forward and is such a high-volume puncher.

a beaten down Guerrero headlining a PBC card is amazing in itself

The only reason Robert Ghost Guerrero is allowed to headline a boxing card at this time is Robert does not look colored or mexican and actually looks Caucasian. Boxing needs so many more Caucasian fighters to keep the fan base intact. Jeff Horn could become boxing's biggest star with a few more nice wins as could Joe Smith. Sure Guerrero does not deserve top billing in any fight card but looks matter.

I agree. Ruben is a horrible trainer.

Ghost is a fun fighter to watch and if he hooked up with lets say...Robert Garcia he could make some noise.

He's really a pretty good trainer, he gets Robert into real good shape. He's a horrible tactician and main corner man. He gets emotionally involved, starts cheer leading and giving pep talks in the corner. As long as Robert is winning, Ruben is calm, but he gets all mucho macho when Robert needs boxing advice.

Robert has been doing CrossFit or whatever to get into shape. Ruben is just hanging out.
