  • Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz Manager: Joshua Must Face Us Next, Not Klitschko!

WBA mandatory challenger Luis "King Kong" Ortiz (27-0) is fully recovered from a hand injury suffered while training for his aborted April fight against Derric Rossy. The fight was supposed to be his debut fighting under Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions' banner. A few weeks after Ortiz's injury, IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua got off the canvas to stop Wladimir Klitschko in 11 rounds to add the vacant WBA and IBO belts to his collection.

It's like these guys don't know the rules. Super champions have up to 18 months to fulfil any mandatory obligations. AJ has only held the belt for 3 so unless they want to improve their standing they need to join the queue. If these guys fought eachother instead of talking this situation could be resolved a lot quicker.

Luis Ortiz camp is so annoying. What kind of moronic managers does this guy have?

Don't these idiots realize they're AT LEAST two fights away for AJ (Wlad, Pulev) and Hearn will most likely NEVER give their guy a shot until he's like 55? Such clowns..

Ortiz will take step aside money, if that's possible.

Ortiz and wilder are the only 2 real threats to AJ, but Ortiz's window of opportunity is closing due to his age.

And another thing. Imo joshua destroys him. Wilder beats him pretty easily. Maybe he can beat parker idk. Either way. Mans 127 yrs old haha

I just went to boxrec to check up something on Ortiz and I noticed that they have Jeff Horn at no.8 on the PfP ratings now - that was my WTF moment for today.

Ortiz ... he is being avoided and this is the negative side of unification - everything slows down for the mandatories. I think he just needs to stay active and prove that he is as good as he looks most of the time. Fight > Whyte, Takam, Ruiz Jr., Martin, or better still Povetkin. Beat any 3 or those and he'll be the wolf at the door.

Why couldn't the WBC force Stiverne to face Ortiz for a shot @ Wilder? It's sad how these champs run from Ortiz!

the real King Kong will beat any one of the 3 chumps with little or no effort all are paper chumps who have never beat or even fought a standing champion in the ring Tyson "the Gypsy King" Fury is the real champion and will KO the real king kong in under 3 rounds "no man born of woman can beat him" "birdlegs" "biblical" and "paper parker" the 3 chumps
