  • Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia: I'm Ready To Do an All-Out Attack on Adrien Broner!

Mikey Garcia was brutally honest. The unbeaten WBC lightweight champion didn't degrade Adrien Broner, yet made it known that he feels he is a vastly superior fighter. In an interview with Showtime's Brian Custer, Garcia predicted that unless Broner can hit him with "a lucky punch," there's no way he'll lose their 12-round, 140-pound fight July 29 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

    I doubt he can.
You can't be a Maidana overnight if you've been a defensive fighter
    all your career. Ask Trout.
I credit him for his last 2 fights, but those were mediocre opponents.

Garcia shouldnt be talking about lucky punches. If by some chance Broner was to land a huge punch and stop Garcia, it would be a KO, end of story. And if Garcia rushes Broner, he could get clipped. Both guys should stick to their game plan and do what has worked best for them and may the best man win, no controversy, no weird stuff. This is an intriguing fight.

I agree with Garcia on everything he says. Mikey has been very technical when it comes to all his fights and has gotten floored because he seems to get too comfortable after a few rounds. Broner on the other hand, is the biggest hype job in the sport. Broner quits attacking as soon as he gets popped in that nasty face of his and recurs to trying to keep away...and even begins to look to the ref for help. I see Garcia winning via any possible way, KO, TKO, Majority, Unanimous, Split!!!! Hope Garcia combs broner's hair after the fight as did Maidana when robert told him to do so!!!! HHaaaa that was epic...."peinalo, peinalo!!!!" he told maidana!!!!

I agree Richardt. Garcia should not be talking about if my opponent lands a lucky punch, as that will make the opponent think that 'wait a minute, this guy is not totally confident of victory'.

Broner would probably welcome that style of fighting. Especially coming from a smaller fighter.

Broner has a good counter game, he did the best in the middle rounds against Maidana when he countered. Problem with Broner is, he has to turn 1 style off before he comes into the other. He really doesnt mix up his attack well. In order for Garcia to win, he has to dictate/implement his style at the 1st second of every rd. Thats a big hill for a smaller man to climb though. If Garcia wins by TKO/KO or a non controversial UD, hes the real deal but I dont think Broners gonna bend over and let Mikey have his way.
